Jordan & Peter - A Backyard Kamloops Wedding on the South Thompson River

I started photographing Jordan & Peter back in 2018. I followed Jordan’s Hike Kamloops blog (the best hiking blog ever - check it out!) and she reached out to me about photographing a mini session of the two of them. Then I ended up photographing a family session for Jordan the year after, then Jordan & Pete’s engagement photos & their wedding! AND now we’re in a book club together and Jordan has been my assistant for multiple weddings and shoots. This business has such a beautiful way of connecting me to incredible people - and Jordan and Peter are a fantastic example of that!

Jordan & Peter’s backyard Kamloops wedding was really symbolic and special. Jordan’s parents got married in that exact location 29 years prior. Jordan & Peter made an album of their wedding photos and added side by side photos of Jordan’s parents’ wedding in it too. I got to watch the video of her parents looking at it for the first time - it was the sweetest.

They had their ceremony overlooking the South Thompson River in Jordan’s parents’ backyard, and then had a potluck style meal to follow. It was small, intimate, and so perfectly “them”!
